Xbox 360 Kinect 4gb Upgrade Hard Drive
Yesterday, my son and his cousin were playing the xbox 360 Kinect and they wanted to play an older xbox 360 game. They asked if the system would play the old game, and I said sure it would. Was I ever wrong. They put the old xbox 360 game in the system and we got an error saying “You need to attach an xbox 360 hard drive”. I do have an external drive attached to my xbox but if you look at the system settings it calls it memory instead of a hard drive.
So, what I found out is this, if you want to run old xbox 360 games you must have a hard drive installed and the 4gb units only have flash memory. To play the older game you really have no other choice than to buy a Microsoft approved hard drive and put it into your unit. The reason I say a Microsoft approved hard drive is because the system must see the Microsoft boot files on the hard drive to recognize it as a Microsoft hard drive.
The good news is that you can find a 250 Microsoft approved hard drive on amazon. I looked around for the right units and here is what I found.
Below is the Harddrive you need to add to your Xbox 360 Slim Unit to play older games and have a hard drive for installing games.
