Xbox 360 Upgrade 320gb Hard drive
Microsoft Xbox has released a new hard drive upgrade for the Xbox 360 and it’s definitely worth upgrading if you plan to install games and trial games. Previously, Microsoft had an upgrade hard drive of 250 GB but now the 320 GB can hold a lot more games with not that much more money.
I didn’t realize when I bought my xbox that a 4 GB hard drive was going to be way too small. My son has xbox live and wants to download games all the time especially the trial games. I like for him to download all the trial games first before we waste money buying the full game. I think we were able to download about 4 games before our hard drive space depleted to nothing on the 4 GB drive. It was a real pain to delete the existing games that were on the hard drive in order to download the new games.
At some point, I finally decided to upgrade to a new 250 GB hard drive because it was all that was available about a year ago and I glad we did. Now we can download all of the trial games we want without having to run out of room on the hard drive.
However, now Microsoft has released a new 320 GB hard drive upgrade. I highly recommend anyone who wants to play xbox and use xbox live to upgrade to the 320 GB. I think it’s roughly $30 more than the 250 GB drive but you now will be able to install all of the trial games you want without having to delete. Plus, you can download the avatars and other xbox features that allow you to customize your character and for $30 more it’s worth it.
It’s real easy to install the new 320 GB hard drive. Just follow these steps below.
- Turn off the Xbox console
- Stand up the console so you can see the hard drive.
- On the right side of the xbox, locate the hard drive cover latch near the rear of the xbox
- Slide the lever toward the front of the Xbox, while pulling the hard drive cover open
- Insert the new hard drive into the opening, and press firmly until you hear it click

I forgot to mention, don’t forget that if you are transferring files, games or profiles from one hard drive to another, you will need the Microsoft Xbox transfer cable. This cable will make it easy for you to move your data from one drive to another. In my case, I didn’t need one because I really didn’t have much on the 4 GB drive that came with the Xbox.
